Increasingly large modules, and sometimes narrow and steep access roads, provide transport challenges, as ALE found when transporting two 193t transformers along a complex route from the Port of Inverness to an electricity substation in Tomatin. The company used its own AL34 girder frame on 24 trailer axle lines, powered by two of its own Trojan tractors, supported by an additional prime mover.
