Dutch ministry buys 20 Hiab knucklebooms
11 February 2009The Dutch Ministry of Internal Affairs has spent EUR5m on 20 Hiab XS 111 knuckleboom cranes and 100 hooklifts for the Dutch Fire Brigade and Highway Police.
Hiab is working with truck makers Volvo and Scania to mount the cranes and container loaders to support emergency services during call-outs. The equipment will also support mobile water pumps, hose reels and with water tanks. Hiab BV in the Netherlands will support the equipment through a repair and maintenance contract. The 10tm-class XS 111 knuckleboom crane has a powered outreach of about 10m.
