Harmonious control

1 April 2016

At Bauma, Olsbergs will show examples of its remote controls and valve blocks, developed in parallel for seamless control.

Olsbergs will show the hydraulic valves Q200 and Q300, an enhanced generation of high performance load-sensing and pressure compensated valves in a monoblock design, in addition to radio remote controllers with real-time updated, backlighted operator displays and menu system.

The company says control systems are installed in more than 20,000 machines around the world and their most common use is with truck mounted loader cranes and forestry cranes. Olsbergs valves are equipped with electro-hydraulic positioners (actuator) with mechanical feedback of the valve spools. Olsbergs says: "With the positioner the spool position in the valve is controlled accurately without influence from flow forces, which results in a very smooth and precise operation of each function."

The valves Q200 and Q300 work up to a maximum pump pressure of 450bar and at a flow of maximum 300l/min and pressure compensators are standard. The valve Q300 is prepared with shock relief valves and anti-cavitation valves. In order to avoid vibrations, Olsbergs load-holding valves are designed to provide a low operating pressure on the piston rod and have pressure-compensation in both directions. In addition, load-sensing technology in combination with variable pumps offers documented energy-efficient hydraulic systems.

There are a number of specially adapted inlets and outlets of modular design for connection to different types of hydraulic systems and pumps. Safety functions and pressure peak limitation are integrated in the inlets. Features of the Olsbergs electro hydraulic control systems include units made in their own production facilities in Sweden, enabling them to secure high standards of quality and performance. The electronics are developed in parallel to make all parts of the system working in perfect harmony providing the ultimate tool for full control, the company says.
