Safari Equipments

28 January 2016

India’s Safari builds a range of minicranes that are often used in developing countries for materials handling in place of tower cranes.

We had very humble beginnings. We started with a small fabrication workshop in the 1980s, and eventually started repairing construction equipment. Today we are a leading construction equipment manufacturer in India, with distributorships in several countries like Sri Lanka, Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Fiji Islands. We are also planning distributorships for the Middle East and South Africa, both of which we hope to finalise by end of 2015.

We manufacture construction equipment like cement concrete mixers, builders hoist, site dumper, Tremix dewatering system and compactors, besides JK minicrane.

The minicranes have their roots in two companies, established by the same person: Safari Enterprise, established in 1991, and JK Works, established in 2005. The minicranes were initially manufactured by Safari, and then later on in 2005, an entirely new company named JK Works was launched to manufacture & sell only minicranes. Later, in 2011 both the companies were merged to form Safari Construction Equipment.

We supply the JK minicrane all over India, and cover every state of India. Outside India, we supply to Kenya and Nigeria.

The minicranes' main sectors are construction and waterproofing. They've also been used in innovative ways in various other applications. For example, a hospital in Ahmedabad uses this crane to lift medical supplies, bandages, sheets, and and to lower waste. A five star hotel, overlooking the landmark Race Course Road in Bangalore, used this crane to lift soil for its terrace garden at 100m. Many chemical factories use this crane to lift chemicals inside their factories.

We think our minicrane has great opportunities in India and developing countries. As the minicrane is an affordable alternative to tower crane for lifting construction material, it is extensively used by contractors and builders. Growing population and urbanisation are increasing demands for high rise buildings and this in turn increases demands for the JK minicrane. The ease & simplicity of use makes it very popular for material lifting in high rise buildings.

We currently have new products in the pipeline, and also plan on to develop various other material handling solutions for other sectors. We are also planning to expand our market share globally.
