Van Beest shows its green colours

22 February 2017

Dutch manufacturer Van Beest will show some of its high-quality fittings for steel-wire rope, chain and synthetic rope from its Excel and Green Pin ranges at stand C23040.

Among the products on Van Beest’s stand will be the TAGFR for Grade 8 slings, UTAGFR for Grade 10 slings, and RFID inspection and identification tags from Van Beest’s Excel range.

The durable tags are easy to recognise and simplify inspections with an easily accessible countersunk RFID chip. There is enough space on the tag to engrave or punch other sling information.

The passive chips are NFC (near-field communication)- compatible, allowing users to scan, identify and track products with their latest-generation NFC compatible smartphone.

From the Green Pin range, Van Beest will feature its Theatre shackles and Green Pin Heavy- Duty Fixed-Nut shackles.

The Theatre shackle is, as the name suggests, aimed at the theatre industry. It is Van Beest’s standard bow shackle with screw collar pins, given a matt black finish so as to be barely visible, even in the spotlight.

The Green Pin Heavy-Duty Fixed-Nut shackle is a robust solution that avoids the risk of accidentally releasing a load when it’s under dynamic load or exposed to extreme vibrations. The range extends to 150t WLL, making it suitable for heavy lifting. Green Pin Sling and Green Pin Wide- Mouth shackles are also available in a fixed-nut version.

The fixed nut consists of an extra AISI 316 securing bolt that is drilled through the nut and shackle pin. The bolt is fastened with two sets of Nord-Lock washers and a securing nut. The washers lock when subjected to movement, keeping the nut safely fixed in position.

The passive chips are NFC-compatible.
