ATI has released an eco-efficient self-propelled walk-behind mobile crane, designed to work quietly and without emissions for indoor use.

The crane's operation requires only a 48V DC battery. The RBC series of cranes is offered in different models with lifting capacities starting at 1,000lb (450kg). It can lift to a height of 6m and reach speeds of 3 mph. The new model, the RBC 50000SPBW, is the biggest in the range: it lifts 50,000lb (23t).

The battery-operated electrical system is not only cleaner but quieter, ATI says. The crane's 10 polyurethane wheels, too, are optimised for quiet operation and designed to spread floor loading and prevent damage to the floor.

ATI is a materials-handling equipment manufacturer. It has been in the industry since 1964, providing hydraulic lift tables, floor and gantry cranes for some unusual applications, including the International Space Station.

The latest crane will be marketed towards assembly and loading plants where heavy items need to be lifted and transported indoors.
