Crane Rental Corporation, US-based rental firm, plans to open a taxi crane service from a new location in its home state of Florida, while adding another Manitowoc 31000 to its fleet of heavylifting crawlers.

Crane Rental Corporation’s new 7.5 acre facility contains 3,200sq ft of office space and 10,000sq ft of shop and warehouse space.

Alan Ashlock, president at Crane Rental, said, “Although we have provided crawler cranes and rough terrain cranes for thirty years in the Tampa area, we will now seek to serve the taxi crane market as well.”

In addition, Crane Rental said it is adding a 2300t Manitowoc 31000 crawler crane to its existing fleet of 80 to 2,535US ton capacity crawler cranes.

Crane Rental Corporation ordered the 31000 in 2008. Crane Rental Corporation said that the unit’s ability to walk with loads, owing to its variable position counterweight, factored into its decision.

Using a 328ft main boom, the Manitowoc 31000 crane can lift and walk with 206t at approximately 300ft.

The company said the crane also has relatively low ground bearing pressure, noting that permanent onsite foundations are not required to accommodate it.

Crane Rental Corporation, offers hauling, transport and specialized rigging in addition to crane rental.

In addition to crawlers, its fleet includes fifteen to 130USt capacity rough terrain cranes, eighteen to 550USt capacity hydraulic truck cranes, electric tower cranes, lattice boom truck cranes, gantries and platform trailers.

Crane Rental Corporation said it is competitive in promoting safety. It has a low Experience Modification Rate (EMR) to 0.69, it said.
