Crane Rental Corporation (CRC) recently completed a job with new owners Maxim, transporting an oversized vessel.

Maxim's 100USt capacity Link-Belt HTC86100 hydraulic truck crane assembled Crane Rental's 700USt capacity gantries multiple times to provide turnkey transport for an over-dimensional load.

The bullet tank was 13ft wide, 11.5ft high, almost 90ft long, and weighed nearly 300,000lb. Crane Rental loaded the vessel with 700 USt capacity gantries onto 15 lines of Goldhofer modular trailers inside the building where it had been hydro-tested and heat-treated.
Next the team transported the load out of the building, down the road and through a tunnel with only 1.5in of clearance. Maxim's 100USt capacity crane re-assembled the gantries to load the vessel from the modular trailers to a railroad car.

Once the railroad transported the vessel with two idler cars, Maxim assembled the gantries again for Crane Rental's team to lift the vessel from the rail car and load it onto the 15-line modular trailer for transport to the site. Finally, the Maxim crane assembled the gantries a fourth time to offload the vessel at its destination.

"This is the type of turnkey service we will continue to provide nationwide as a team at Maxim," Maxim's Southeast Region president Alan Ashlock said. Frank Bardonaro, president of sales and business development added, "The CRC expertise in heavy haul and rigging services will allow the Maxim team to continue to provide a one-stop shop for our customers throughout the nation. We are looking forward to expanding the heavy haul fleet of equipment to ensure our customers have what they need anywhere in the USA."
