UK knuckleboom crane trade group ALLMI, the Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers, has successfully completed the process for Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) approval.

ALLMI CEO, Tom Wakefield, said: “This year, we have undergone an independent audit which was mapped against the Construction Leadership Council’s requirements for the One Industry Logo action, the successful completion of which now enables us to display the CSCS logo on ALLMI cards.”

The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) was created in 2013 to work between industry and government, in order to identify and deliver actions supporting UK construction in building greater efficiency, skills and growth.

At the beginning of 2015, the CLC launched the One Industry Logo action - via its Industrial Strategy: Construction 2025 - announcing that industry, including trade associations, contractors, clients and government, should specify and promote card schemes carrying the CSCS logo, in relation to individuals performing construction occupations on site.

The objective of this action is to provide clients, employers and contractors with a consistent means of recognising when an individual has achieved an agreed standard of qualification and skill in relation to the construction activity they are undertaking, and to give the industry confidence in that brand.

Tom Wakefield said:  “We are delighted with this development; the achievement of CSCS approval is excellent news for ALLMI and it further strengthens our position as the UK’s leading provider of training for all lorry loader lifting team roles.”

The CSCS logo will be displayed in the top right hand corner of all ALLMI cards relating to the following categories: lorry loader operator, slinger/signaller, crane supervisor, appointed person, thorough examiner.

As of 1st November 2016, current ALLMI cardholders can order a replacement card which will display the CSCS logo.
