UK crane company Ainscough has purchased eight AK 44/4000 truck-mounted Böcker cranes, through the German crane manufacturer’s UK dealer Kranlyft.

The cranes are constructed from lightweight aluminium, which provides a relatively low body weight and enables the crane to be installed on a MAN TGM 18.250 HGV. Due to the crane's PTO auxiliary drive, the mast can extend and retract at maximum load capacity of 4t, with a maximum extension length of 44m.

Ainscough cited the versatility of the cranes as a key reason for purchase, with the cranes offering the ability to work in areas with poor ground conditions, a light travelling weight, low outrigger loadings and remote operation.

The first four of the eight cranes were delivered to Ainscough in December, with the remaining four due to reach the UK company early this month. Ainscough has a fleet of more than 455 mobile cranes, across 29 locations.
