Faymonville has increased the capital of Italian special-transport manufacturer Cometto S.p.A (Cometto) to €12m in order to “confirm its long-term strategy and ensure the sustainability of the company.”

Luxembourg-based Faymoville announced the acquisition of Cometto at this year’s ConExpo (Cranes Today April 2017, p14).

At the event, Faymonville Group president Alain Faymonville said: “We want to invest a lot of money in this company to bring it back to its historic position.”

“We will have a synergy on the purchasing, development and commercial sides of the business. We will have a very strong dealer network around the world. Faymonvilee works in around 85 countries, Cometto works in more than 45. An important thing is we now want to invest a lot more in the Cometto side for development, production, service and sales.”

Since the takeover, the initial focus has been on redesigning the service and after sales organisation. There is now a 24/7 service hotline, while there is going to be an enhancement to the global spare parts delivery.

Faymonville combines its expertise in production processes with specialist knowledge of Cometto in the field of self-propelled modular vehicles segment. “Cometto will accordingly become the competence centre for self-propelled vehicles,” said Faymonville.
