Thomas Wiesbauer signed a “letter of intent” on a napkin in 2019 to ensure he had the very first seven-axle 450t Demag AC 450-7 all terrain crane. On May 27, he executed the official purchase agreement.

Tadano says the new AC 450-7 all terrain crane is significantly more powerful than any six-axle units, even exceeding the lifting capacities of some eight-axle cranes in a number of boom lengths.

“The 450-7 fills a niche that has not been served yet,” added Thomas Wiesbauer. The AC 450-7 also has an 80m boom; a patented luffing jib rigging system; and a new SSL in which the Superlift arms are mounted right at the front of the head.

“And despite its additional axle, it still fits in the six-axle class in terms of its dimensions, having a carrier length of only 15.99 meters, an outrigger base of 8.49 meters, and a total length of 17.62 meters,” said Tadano Demag.

The crane will be delivered next year. There are still a few more scheduled visits to Zweibrücken before delivery for Wiesbauer employees as they attend the important milestones events with the Demag team during the progress of the build.

In recent years, Wiesbauer has acquired products from both Tadano Demag in Zweibrücken and Tadano Faun in Lauf.
