Canadian crane and heavy haul contractor Myshak Crane and Rigging took delivery of their first Liebherr LG1750 SX mobile crane in December 2019 and their second upcoming this month. They are the first two LG 1750 with the powerful SX boom system in North America.

The 750t lattice boom crane will reinforce the company’s crane fleetand is mainly intended for jobs in the wind power industry. It is the most powerful crane in the Myshak fleet.

“We needed a largercrane because wind turbines are getting higher and higher and their componentweights are increasing. We decided to invest in the LG 1750’s because this powerfulcrane enables us to meet the needs of our customers from the wind power industry in North America,” the company said.

Myshak ordered both LG 1750 cranes with SL20 boom systems for erecting windturbines with a hub height of up to 100m at low cost without using a derricksystem. In addition, the company purchased the even more powerful SX boom systemfor erecting turbines with a hub height of 140m or more using a derrick system. This enables it to erect the latest generation of wind turbines. “The new SX boomenables us to erect higher turbines. Nevertheless we can move the crane from oneturbine to the next efficiently,” said Myshak.

Although the crane and heavy haul contractor is mainly planning to use the new LG 1750 for wind power jobs, it willalso be used in other sectors.

Myshak has a 240-strong workforce and operates more than 250 cranes. It recently also took delivery of an LR 1350/1 crawler crane, LG 1550 lattice boom mobile crane, LTM 1500-8.1, LTM 1250-5.1 and LTM 1070-4.2 mobile cranes from Liebherr.
