Compact crane specialist GGR Group has been awarded the Gold status in the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS), recognizing improvements in safety, environmental impact and efficiency.

The company specializes in UNIC mini spider cranes, compact pick and carry cranes, vacuum handling equipment and restricted-access lifting machinery.

The Gold status was awarded to GGR Group's depot at Long Credon following an assessment, attendance at FORS workshops, and theoretical and practical driver training. The company also installed front and rear cameras and side-scan systems for its fleet, to help improve safety.

GGR first gained the Bronze accreditation from FORS -- run by UK body Transport For London -- in 2013. It is now one of 41 companies in the UK to have attained the Gold standard.

Managing director Gill Riley said: "This is an excellent achievement, to progress from Bronze to Silver and now to Gold in only 18 months highlights GGR's commitment to improving safety on the roads. Working with FORS means we've been able to identify best practices and improve our growing, successful fleet."
