Havator has significantly expanded its business in Scandinavia after completing the acquisition of Brunskoggruppen AB’s special transport operations.

The acquisition sees Brunskoggruppen personnel, vehicles and premises in Ljungby transfer to Havator, which said the deal would expand its expertise in international transport and supplement its heavy haulage and transport solutions.

Brunskoggruppen's management made a decision in late 2013 to divest its heavy-haulage and special transport division in order to focus on third-party logistics and fixed-route vehicle transports. Havator announced the acquisition in June, completing the integration in July.

Havator, which operates a cranes rental business and heavy haulage/special transport operation, is also investing in its fleet, with a new Nooteboom trailer introduced in Vaasa, Finland and others acquired for the Swedish operations.

A fourth Terex AC 500-2 all-terrain crane with 500t capacity has been bought by Havator Crane Rental in Tornio, Finland. Supplied with maximum jib and counterweight, and equipped with the sideways super lift system, it will be used throughout Scandinavia in the harbour, petrochemical, steel and offshore sectors.
