Service truck crane manufacturer Iowa Machine Tooling has promoted its current vice president of sales, Jim Hasty, to the position of general manager of the company.

After two years as vice president of sales, Hasty will now head up operations at Iowa Machine Tooling (IMT) and take on responsibility for the firm’s business strategy across all material handling and commercial vehicle product lines.

In an interim capacity, Hasty will also continue to lead sales operations at the company.

Commenting on the new role, Hasty said: “Since joining IMT, I have enjoyed being a part of the talented team of professionals we have here, all of which are truly committed to making IMT the leading brand in the service-truck industry.

“I look forward to working with the entire IMT team and our distributors in my new role to ensure the company continues to grow by offering our customers the innovative products they have come to expect from IMT.”

Hasty brings over 20 years of industry experience to IMT, which he joined after leaving the role of vice president of corporate marketing and strategic business development at semi-trailer manufacturer Wabash National Corporation.

During Hasty’s time at Wabash National Corporation he moved between a number of roles, including sales director and vice president of sales and marketing, and prior to this he held a number of management positions at The Stanley Works organisation, including being in charge of sales for the Americas and Australia.

The executive vice president of IMT parent company Oshkosh Corporation, Frank Nerenhausen, who is also president of the Oshkosh Commercial Group said: “Jim has been a tremendous asset to the IMT team, and we are confident that his experience and management skills will lead IMT to continued growth. As vice president of sales, Jim has strengthened the company’s commitment to the market, and particularly to our distributors and customers. We are confident that Jim will bring that same level of commitment to his new role as vice president/general manager, which will serve to strengthen IMT as the leading brand in the industry.”
