Autokran-Dienst Jaromin – based in Oberhausen, Germany – has added a Terex Explorer 5500 all terrain crane to its fleet.

The main factor that made general managers Olaf and Lars Jaromin decide on the new Explorer 5500 was the unit’s versatility.

“Together with the asymmetrical outrigger configuration and fine-tuned partial counterweight options, the IC-1 Plus control system makes it possible to have just the right lifting capacity for each individual project. That enables us to take fewer counterweights with us, and sometimes none at all, for many construction site projects,” said Olaf Jaromin.

The Explorer 5500 is able to travel with a 10t axle load. “This not only results in shorter waiting times for travel permits, but also in the ability to fulfill customers’ needs much more quickly,” said Terex.

When configuring its Explorer 5500, Jaromin focused not only on technical performance by selecting a hydraulically offsettable main boom extension and a counterweight detection system, but also on crane operator comfort by choosing an engine-independent heater and an air conditioning system.

After this addition, Jaromin has five Terex machines in its fleet.
