Liebherr’s largest tower crane, the 1000 EC-B 125 Litronic, was used to lift a wind turbine rotor to a height of 142.5m.

The rotor, weighing 70t and with a diameter of 113m, was installed on a new wind turbine at Deining, Bavaria.

The flat-top Liebherr crane, designed specifically for the erection of wind turbines, had a hook height of 155.5m and was braced to the tower of the turbine. It was integrated into the foundation of the wind turbine, resulting in less of the surrounding forest area having to be cleared to complete the project.

Out of the woods: a Liebherr 1000 EC-B 125 Litronic lifted a wind turbine rotor at a wind farm in Germany.
