LNG tanks transported across Florida
21 May 2015 by Daniel SearleCrane Rental Corporation transported three liquid natural gas (LNG) tanks in South Florida using Grove cranes and Goldhofer trailers.
The tanks were moved onto trailers from a barge using a 275t Grove GMK5275 all terrain crane and a 240t GMK5240 all terrain.
Each tank was 134.5ft long, 12.5ft wide, 14ft high, and weighed 166,000lbs, and required 18 lines of THP Goldhofer modular trailers to transport the tanks five miles to their destination.
The haul route involved crossing railroad tracks, travelling under two bridges, and utilising police escorts to manage traffic in the Miami area.
