Manitowoc’s new AT raises performances
27 March 2018Manitowoc is launching a successor to the hugely popular Grove GMK6300L all terrain crane, which has been available since 2010
The new 300t model is the GMK6300L-1, and it will continue, says the company, its predecessor’s legacy, bringing new levels of performance to the six-axle category.
Changes to the structural strength of the crane have improved load charts by over 7% compared to the GMK6300L. Improvements at height are even greater: the advantage is over 16% in the boom length range of 70–80m.
Maximum tip height is now 120m when working with its full main boom and 37 m of jib. The main boom can lift up to 14t at full height and can handle this within a 14–28m working radius, offering a flexible range for such applications as tower crane rigging.
The GMK6300L-1 is more fuel efficient. It is powered by a 430kW Mercedes Benz (Euromot 4/EPA Tier 4 final) engine in the carrier paired with an Allison torque converter transmission. A 210kW Mercedes Benz engine powers the superstructure.
Like its predecessor, the GMK6300L-1 features Megatrak suspension and Manitowoc’s standard all-wheel steering. Its counterweight slabs and auxiliary hoist are interchangeable with other GMK models, making it an attractive investment for existing Grove customers.

With its significantly improved load charts and specifications, we expect the GMK6300L-1 to prove just as popular.”
