German company Hüffermann has developed an electric assembly crane, combining the company’s own chassis with a Palfinger PK 53002-SH loading crane.

The crane is powered by electricity, either from a battery or power cable, and can lift 10.5t at an outreach of 4m, and 2.5t at a reach of 16m. It can load and unload itself at the place of operation, by lifting itself 1.2m with its own propping system to allow a trailer to drive underneath.

All-wheel steering and the option of different steering programmes improve the agility of the crane, says Hüffermann, and enable it to be controlled in narrow corners.

The crane is 5.6m long, just under 2m wide, and has a minimum turning radius of less than 3.9m, achieved by separately-controllable axles which allows the wheel angle to vary by up to 45º. The outriggers are variably extendable, and the frontal supporting carrier is laterally moveable by 800mm. Maximum support base is 5.6m by 6.6m.

As an electrically-powered unit the crane offers quiet, emission-free operation, and the model is particularly suitable for construction, installation and maintenance work.

Hüffermann produces the crane at its facility in Wildeshausen, and the model is available to rent or purchase.

The propping system allows the crane to lift itself for the loading and unloading process.
