Dutch investment company MeeMaken BV has acquired offshore group Kenz Figee for an undisclosed amount.

The name Kenz Figee Group as well as the business of its two divisions, Kenz Cranes and Kenz Crane Services, will remain unchanged.

This was the latest in a series of investments by MeeMaken, whose managing partner is former chief executive of Mammoet Roderik van Seumeren. The company’s operational partner and HRM strategist is Natasja Sesink, who was responsible for the HRM policy of Mammoet between 1997 and 2008.

MeeMaken, which means ‘participate’ in Dutch, has acquired and bought into a number of companies around the world in the past few years, with the majority focusing on the heavy lifting sector. The investments also indicate a particular interest in the offshore energy industry.

MeeMaken has invested in engineering and consultancy firm Euro-Rigging and its subsidiaries Rigging Americas and HLT Solutions, which provide services to -among others- manufacturers of heavy equipment and offshore energy companies. Euro-Rigging’s client list includes Mammoet, Hyundai Heavy Industries and Exxon Mobile.

Alltec Lifting Systems has also received investment from MeeMaken. It provides rigging for major projects in petrochemical, refining, power, nuclear and offshore industries.

Newly-created Canadian heavy lift services company Liftwerx has also agreed to partner with MeeMaken.

Another area the Dutch investment company has showed interest is pipeline construction industry services.

Selmers - an international supplier of plants and equipment for internal and external pipe coating, pipe cleaning and pipe handling - has been added to MeeMaken’s portfolio. The company which has been operating for more than 50 years has customers in the onshore and offshore pipeline construction industry.

MeeMaken has also invested in BeOne Development, a Dutch training solutions company.

Kenz Figee was positive with the takeover, as it believes in the synergy with the other companies within the group.

Robert de Rijcke, Commercial Director of Kenz Figee Group: “We believe that MeeMaken BV can lift us to the next professional level.”
