A UNIC URW-1006 mini crane has been used in the UK to replace 9m-long fins on a 24m wind turbine named Grace Kelly.

The turbine is manufactured by DC21 Group, a Huddersfield, UK-based company which names all of its turbines, including the nearby turbine Rita Hayworth.

The URW-1006 spider crane offers 30.7m of height, making it suitable for lifting the turbine fins and rotor hub 24m to the top of the tower. The 9m-long fins each weighed 410kg, within the crane's ability to travel while carrying 1.5t.

Dial M for mini: the fins of the Grace Kelly wind turbine were replaced using a UNIC mini crane.
