A new fleet of trailers with hydraulic width adjustment is allowing heavy transportation specialist ALE to expand its business in Australia.

ALE has already taken delivery of 40 axle lines fitted with the Goldhofer hydraulic width adjustment system, which will meet Australian road transport weight/width restrictions by spreading the axle load to the necessary requirements. Hydraulic beams fixed to the middle and to each end of the trailer make the width change possible, requiring two operatives to complete the process.

The specifications of the new modules are a wheelbase of 1,800mm, with adjustable widths of 3,480mm, 3,700mm, 4,000mm, 4,500mm and 4,900mm.

The various vehicle combinations can be used at maximum axle load on public roads in all six Australian states.

ALE has Australian operation centres in Brisbane, Darwin, Perth, Gladstone and Port Hedland.
