The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will hold a special meeting at the end of March to discuss a draft proposal to revise the organisation’s crane operator certification requirement.

A special meeting of the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH) will take place on 31 March and 1 April in Washington, D.C., to consider the proposed revision to the Cranes and Derricks in Construction standard.

A draft of the proposed regulatory text and a summary of site visits are available on the ACCSH's website. The meetings are open to the public, and comments and requests to speak may be submitted at www.regulations.gov by 20 March.

The new draft includes a review of the prior proposal to tie operator certification to crane capacity.
