Palfinger Marine acquires winch manufacturer
20 January 2015 by Daniel SearleThe marine division of crane manufacturer Palfinger has taken over Norwegian Deck Machinery AS, a producer of specialist winches for the marine and offshore industy.
Palfinger Marine has acquired 100% of the shares of the Os-based company, which also manufactures lifting and handling equipment for offshore vessels, service vessels, and oil and gas rigs.
Palfinger's chief executive Herbert Ortner said: "This acquisition will not only expand our product range in the marine business, but also give us access to those customer groups which Palfinger has so far not addressed."
