Loader crane manufacturer says it is investing in artificial intelligence to further increase the efficiency of its spare parts service.

Austrian loader crane manufacturer Palfinger claims that currently around 20,000 spare parts leave its global warehouses every day, with 95 percent of these reaching their destination and being installed within 24 hours as part of its ‘100% uptime’ pledge. The company has 34 production sites and more than 5,000 service and sales points in 130 countries.

According to Palfinger, however, it believes that it can further improve its service by the use of artificial intelligence (AI). The company says it is investing in powerful AI forecasting methods to obtain even more efficient workflows.

"We are investing intensively in the direction of full-service concepts," revealed Christian Steiner, Palfinger director after sales service EMEA. “For example, in a spare parts hub concept for Europe and in smart tools to optimise spare parts availability. This enables our customers to know exactly their total cost of ownership."
