Colombian crane hire company Potenco has added a used Liebherr LTM to its fleet.

The crane was bought from the manufacturer and was transferred from Brazil to Colombia using the cross-border collaboration between Liebherr companies.

Potenco, based in Medellín, in the north-west of Columbia, was founded in 2012 and offers 36 tower cranes for hire.

For the last two years Potenco has been operating a Liebherr LTM 1060/2 mobile crane in its fleet.  However, the LTM 1060/2 was limited when it came to assembling tower cranes. This led to the decision to invest in another larger mobile crane.

Liebherr said: “With its telescopic boom length of 52m, a telescope extension of 14m and a double-folding jib of 19m, the LTM 1100-4.1, with its maximum hook height of 86 m, is ideal for assembling tower cranes. Together with its compact dimensions, the 8x8 drive unit in the crane is a perfect solution for Columbia's mountainous country. This means that the crane can be used economically and flexibly in any terrain.”

There are currently around 100 Liebherr mobile cranes operating in Colombia.
