UK hire firm John Sutch Cranes (JSC) has grown its fleet for the first time since the downturn by purchasing a 10t mobile folding tower crane from Dutch manufacturer Spierings.

Owner John Sutch bought a Spierings SK 1265 AT6 for work in the inner city of Liverpool, home to the company’s headquarters, where his firm often works installing steel work, mechanical equipment and air handling equipment.

JSC’s new six-axle mobile folding crane features a 132tm lifting capacity and a maximum jib length of 60m.

With it’s compact design and what Spierings say is the highest lift capacity in it’s class, JSC hopes the SK 1265 AT6 will give it an advantage over mobile cranes typically used for city construction work.

Sutch said: “Liverpool is my city. In difficult times like these you need to go for the special jobs with better margins.”

The new crane was on display this June at the Vertikal Days event in Warrington already sporting the fluorescent yellow and dark blue livery of JSC.

The SK 1265 AT6 is the eighth Spierings crane purchased by the firm, and one of four mobile folding tower cranes in its fleet of city cranes and all terrain cranes.
