Terex Africa, a subsidiary of the Eqstra Group and principal dealer for Terex’s equipment across southern Africa, has installed four electric overhead traveling (EOT) cranes at its new premises in Pomona, adjacent to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.

The cranes have been supplied and installed by Akhanani Electromechanical Engineering, a local manufacturer and distributor of Verlinde cranes, and will be used for assembly, repair and maintenance work.

The installation includes three 20t capacity EOT cranes and one 30t, 17.33m-span double girder EOT crane. All the cranes have a lift height of 6m and are pendant controlled.

Akhanani has also signed a service and maintenance agreement with Terex Africa to provide future care for the equipment.
