Mindelheim, Germany–based Weiss Kranservice has added a Demag AC 220-5 and a Demag AC 300-6 to its fleet. The new all terrain cranes will be used for the assembly of the company’s 280 tower cranes.

Weiss’ customers appeared to be ordering increasingly bigger and taller tower cranes so the company had to ensure the assembly cranes kept pace. The runner it ordered as part of the deal can also be used by either crane providing improved cost-effectiveness. Both cranes are equipped with load hook cameras and IC-1 Plus control system.

“These two new cranes will complement our Tadano ATF 220 perfectly,” said Dominik Magg, who works as a crane operator at Weiss Kranservice and who picked up the two cranes together with his fellow crane operators Danijel Solaja and Niculai Candrea-Ometita in Zweibrücken.

Dominik Magg commented the AC 300-6 provides an outstanding combination of range and power: “A lifting capacity of 15t with the 80m main boom fully extended – that’s quite something.”
