Wagenborg Nedlift, part of Royal Wagenborg, has appointed Gerard Bastiaansen as its new CEO.

Bastiaansen has been active in the heavy lifting and transport industry, since 1982. In the past five years, he worked as project director at Mammoet in Canada, Australia and USA.

Bastiaansen succeeded Ton Klijn, who is retiring after 14 years in the role. Klijn will remain the director of ESTA, the European association of abnormal road transport and mobile cranes.

In June, Klijn was appointed as an interim director of the association, after Søren Jansen stepped down; he has now taken on the post permanently.
