Huisman opens new Chinese production hall
04 February 2010
Heavy lift specialist Huisman has officially opened its new production hall in China.
The Huisman China production hall is the company’s largest production facility. It measures 205 x 54 x 62m, has a 2,000t internal hoisting capacity and allows products to be assembled vertically, ‘considerably enlarging the facility’s capacity in both the size and the number of products’, Huisman said.

Huisman’s Chinese facility, opened in Fujian in 2007, has a total of 17 production halls, a shot blasting and painting hall, and a maintenance facility equipped with a welding school. So far it has built more than 20 cranes, including three 800t capacity heavy lift mast cranes and several 300t capacity pedestal mounted offshore cranes. It is currently constructing a 5,000t capacity offshore mast crane for Acergy’s pipelay and heavy lift construction vessel Borealis.
Huisman’s other production facilities are situated in the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.
