Boskalis, a service provider in dredging, offshore energy, and maritime sectors, has bought a Tadano GR-1000EX-4 rough terrain crane to serve its Vlaardingen, The Netherlands central distribution centre.
It will be used to handle heavy equipment such as pumps, constructions, and containers.

The new crane replaces a Tadano GR-600EXL which it used for the previous 23 years. This crane was central to day-to-day logistics, supporting the distribution of everything from small consumables to oversized machinery shipped worldwide.
Tadano says that, compared to the outgoing GR-600EXL, the new model provides a higher lifting capacity and updated safety systems, allowing the team to handle increasingly heavy and complex loads.
The GR-1000EX-4 is equipped with a 50.9-metre full power main boom, offering reach and radius within a compact footprint. A Cummins engine powers the crane, while additional counterweight can be used to improve lifting performance. The redesigned model also includes operator-focused features such as a tilting cabin for improved visibility and a side ladder that converts into steps for safer access.
“Our previous Tadano crane served us reliably for more than two decades. That proven quality was one of the key reasons we chose Tadano again,” said Chris van Wijk, logistics manager at Boskalis. “With the GR-1000EX-4, we are confident we can continue to work safely and efficiently for many years to come.”
