Kato Cranes (UK) Ltd has brought the 10t-capacity CR-100 City Crane to the European market and has already received five orders.
The CR-100 model is the little brother of Kato’s 25t CR-250 which first came to Europe just over a year ago in the wake of the successful launch of Mannesmann Dematic’s similarly styled AC 25.
Both of the Kato models have had strong track records in Japan before their arrival in Europe. More than 2,800 units of the 10t model have been sold in Japan.
The latest arrival has a six section, fully powered and synchronised boom with a reach of 23.5m, lifting 10t through 360O. As with the 25t version, twin winches are standard and the fly jib has offsets of 15O, 30O and 45O. There are four steering modes and it has a 4×4 turning radius of 3.92m.
The CR-100’s body is less than 2m wide and 2.8m high. Tail-swing is 1.78m, enabling operational access to confined jobsites.
