Two Terex RT 100 rough terrain cranes have been delivered to the Middle East to bolster the crane fleet of Kuwaiti firm Integrated Logistics.

Integrated Logistics, which already owns several Terex mobile and crawler cranes, plans to use the 90t rough terrain cranes in the petrochemical and gas refinery sector.

Terex says that with its six-section 53m main boom the RT100 offers the longest boom length in its class, and to add extra reach Integrated Logistics also purchased a 15m main boom extension that will be used by both cranes.

On its own the main boom has a maximum tip height of 55.8m and features two synchronised telescoping modes.

Additional rigging in the form of a five-sheave 80t capacity hook block and 5t hook ball was also purchased.

The logistics firm chose the RT 100 due to its performance comparable to other cranes of its size, highlighting its compact design as ideal for working at space-restricted job sites.

Integrated Logistics’ CEO, Salah Al Huwaidi, said: “Being able to share a single main boom extension for both machines was a cost-effective solution that our company appreciated.

“Also, offering higher capacity than other cranes of similar size, the RT 100 is an ideal solution for the wide range of pick and carry jobs that we require in our business sector. The ability to manoeuvre safely in areas where other cranes cannot go is a strong advantage for our customers.”

The cranes were delivered in their standard configuration with tier 4/step 3b compliant engines capable of generating 194kW at 2200rpm, power steering (operable in three steering modes), 29.5R25 tires and air-conditioned cabs.

Terex’s RT 100s are compliant with ASME standard B30.5 and European crane design standard EN 13000.
