Palfinger has acquired Sweden’s Hinz Försäljnings, which was previously its second largest independent distribution partner globally.

Hinz Fo¨rsa¨ljnings has five service points and 45 service partners generating annual sales revenue of around €44m. For the past 46 years, the company has been selling Palfinger’s product range—including naval cranes and services—into the northern European market. Over these years, it has sold more than 11,000 Palfinger and Epsilon cranes in Sweden.

Palfinger now has 100% ownership of Hinz Fo¨rsa¨ljnings, previously wholly owned subsidiary of Hinz Holding. Sales manager, Magnus Hinz and managing director Magnus Rosberg will continue in their roles. The purchase price has not been revealed.

"The new ownership structure guarantees that Hinz Fo¨rsa¨ljnings , as the most important player in the Swedish market, remains the same and has a future," said Magnus Hinz.

Palfinger said the acquisition gives the company an excellent sales and service structure in Sweden and proximity to local customers, Swedish truck manufacturers and other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

"Acquiring our long-standing partner is a vital step towards providing our Scandinavian customers with even more intensive and comprehensive support – keeping in line with our brand promise: Creating value and growing together,” said Palfinger CEO Andreas Klauser.
