A big stake in China’s Las Vegas

As the construction industry meets in the USA’s gambling capital, Las Vegas, Eastime is using 16 Fushan Yongmao cranes in the city’s Chinese counterpart, Macau, to build the Studio City leisure resort.

Working on the hotel construction are seven 18t Yongmao STT293- 18s which have a 74m outreach and 2.7t tip load. The buildings podium is being constructed using a varierty of different cranes, including four 18t Yongmao STT553-18s and three 24t Yongmao STT553-24s. Also working on the building's podium are an STL230-18 and a 24t Yongmao STL420-24. The development has nineteen tower cranes in total.

Eastime (Macau) Construction Equipment Engineering Limited currently has around twenty-one Yongmao tower crane units at different jobsites in Macau. The manufacturer said that by the middle of January 2014, there would be thirty units of Yongmao tower cranes erected in Macau. Eastime's parent company entered into a joint venture agreement with Yongmao Holding Ltd in August 2013.

It took around 6 months to install 19 units of tower cranes on the job site. The first crane was erected on March 2013 and the last crane was erected on September 2013.

The Studio City project is a joint development by US investment firms Silver Point Capital LP and Oaktree Capital Management LLC and a Hong Kong entertainment company, eSun Holdings Ltd. Construction on the new resort is expected to open in 2015.
