Arentis

Netherlands

We were established in 1955 as a steel construction company. In the early 60’s we started buying mobile cranes to erect our steelwork. Companies in our area started asking if they could rent these cranes, and that was the beginning of our rental company.

My sister, Sandra de Nijs-Heijens, and I took on 100% of my father’s shares in the company in 1995. She is responsible for all financial and administration activities, while I am responsible for commercial activities and operations.

On January 1, 2011 we renamed our company from Eyke Hogendoorn Group to Syndus group, for ease of pronunciation when working abroad. The group has 275 people divided between four different branches.

Ferris is the structural steel company, Amerplastics is active in Glassfibre Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) pipelines, structures and safety gates, Fiberstruct, established in Slovakia, makes fibreglass gratings, and our rental company Arentis has developed as a total supplier of industrial materials and tools.

Mobile cranes are just a part of the rental company, which also provides aerial platforms, scissor lifts, air compressors, generator sets, welding sets and a complete package of industrial hand tools.

We operate cranes in the southern Holland, especially the Zeeland province and the Flemish part of Belgium (Gent–Antwerp). We operate a fleet of 20 cranes, with the Liebherr LTM 1250 being the largest.

Our fleet consists of mainly Manitowoc Grove cranes. In the early 60s we started with Coles cranes, our first was a 6.3t Coles crane. We were loyal to Manitowoc until we started to rent self-erecting cranes. Because Manitowoc couldn’t supply them, we started doing business with Liebherr. Now we have one of each of Liebherr’s three models of self-erecting crane in our fleet.

Besides the MK Liebherr cranes, we have four Liebherr mobile cranes. This summer we will add the new Liebherr LTC 1045, which has a telescopic cabin that can be operated from a 7.8m height, allowing our operator to see over pipe racks at industrial plants.

We also have Maeda spider cranes, some Valla cranes and a complete line of telehandlers, including Manitou rotating telehandlers, machines we also use in our industrial movement and rigging activities.

We are mostly active in the petrochemical industry, operating in the greater part of the Benelux region, northern France and Western Germany. We are also starting to rent machines in Slovakia and its neighbours, but only on long-term projects.
