Mini but mighty

19 March 2019

At Bauma, visitors will be able to have a closer look at the latest innovations in mini cranes, spider cranes and pick and carry cranes. Sotiris Kanaris reports.

Italian manufacturer Jekko will present a large number of models at its stand. In terms of mini spider cranes, Jekko will present the SPX532 with a full electric lithium battery motor; the first hybrid version of a mini crane the SPX1280HYB; the SPX312 and an electric SPX424. The new MPK06 and MPK12 minipickers and the SPK60 compact telecrawler will also be parked there. From the JF series, developed in partnership with Fassi, Jekko expects the JF990 to steal the show. It has a loading capacity of as much as 100 ton/m and a weight not exceeding 23t. The JF40 will also be exhibited, while a JF365 will be at Fassi’s stand.

Unic Cranes Europe’s stand will have ten compact mini cranes on display, with maximum capacities ranging from 1t to 10t. The URW- 1006 will be the highlight of the stand; it has a maximum capacity of 10t, 30.7m maximum lifting height and 24.3m working radius. With a newly revised load chart, it also has a unique pick and carry function, enabling it to travel with loads up to 1.5t. From the zero-emissions range will be the Unic ECO-095 (wheeled) and the Unic ECO-295 (on tracks).

Kranlyft, Maeda’s EMEA distributor, will exhibit the CC423 and MC285-3 models. The CC423 is the newest addition to the crawler crane range with a 2.93t capacity. The CC423 has primarily been developed for use in where space is restricted, due to the highly compact tracked footprint with no need for outriggers and near zero-tailswing. The major feature of this crane is the 1465kg pick and carry capacity. The MC285C has lifting capacities of 0.995t to 8t. New features to the MC285C-3 model include slew limit setting, new 7in display, HBC radio remote control and detachable electric motor.

Ormig, celebrating 70 years of activity, will introduce its new range of electrical indoor cranes, especially useful for handling work in internal places and in short space conditions.

Main features of these cranes are the reduced overall dimensions and weight suitable for the transport on the road without transit permits, all over Europe. Ormig electric indoor cranes rotate on themselves thanks to a patented system which avoids slidings and frictions to the ground.

Ormig will show cranes with lifting capacities of 30t, 40t and 60t. Hoeflon will present a number of its products. At Bauma will be the world premiere of its C30 mini crane, which has 8t lifting capacity and it is fully powered on lithium batteries.

Unic Cranes Europe will present the URW-1006.
On display at Jekko’s stand will be an electric version of SPX424
