Rock steady

When the world famous folk band Mumford and Sons came to Galway in the south of Ireland extreme weather conditions made for a challenging stage construction. Ground preparation materials from Zigma ensured the show went ahead.

Organisers of the Irish leg of the Mumford and Sons world tour required installation of temporary roadways and work areas to enable access for the crew and band, light weight vehicles, trucks and cranes of up to 75t. This was a challenge due to the location of the site which only had tight access roads and made more difficult by extreme weather conditions. The ground had become very uneven extremely wet and boggy making it dangerous for heavy vehicles to work alongside the installation crew. A safe and reliable temporary roadway and work pad were required to enable the stage erection to be conducted safely and within the tight timeframe required.

The solution came from 50 EuroMat's and 60 TuffTrak's provided and installed Irish firm Event Flooring to be used over the one-week event period. Both Zigma's EuroMat and TuffTrak use a chevron traction surface that dispels mud and dirt while vehicles traverse over them. The chevron nub design also reduces sideway slippage and delivers forward traction for heavy plant, machinery and vehicles. The reverse side of TuffTrak has low profile traction, which can be used in areas where the majority of use is pedestrian workforce such as the installation crew.
