The software contains several different modules for mobile devices and PCs, each with different functions. Avalon PC is the main software to insert, edit and manage crane jobs. Dragging the mouse along a time/date bar creates new orders, report data from field engineers as well as crane site visits are included automatically. Maps and driving information can be printed as extra pages on the order. The software also calculates the driving distance and costs to the work location.

Another module is CSReport or Crane Site Report, an app-based programme, on which the field engineer can write a detailed job report directly on to tablet device. Contact information, crane details, load description, images and a lifting operation map, are all built on top of a Google maps layout, which is transmitted via the online connection to the company server.

Avalon App is the mobile access platform for the field engineer and fleet planning staff. Available on both iPhone and iPad, the user can look up customer data such as contact numbers, latest prices or credit balances for open invoices. The fleet planning for a specific crane or date can also be viewed. The driver can then be contacted and information sent using SMS.

The programme also has a map function, Maptrack. This is a PCbased, customisable, map of all crane operations current or past. Each job is visible from a flag on the map, based on the location and date of the job. Touching the flag on the map accesses all the data collected from the other modules.

GPS positioning is used on a daily planning chart, showing when a crane arrives at a customer job site, and if it is working. SMSE Reports give each driver job information for the next working day via SMS or email. Drivers Report is a PC based system that lets the driver access all the information from the field engineer's first location visit, allowing them to look up upcoming jobs and print out any relevant information.
