Allied Marine Crane has recently installed its A-Frame crane on board the research vessel R/V Sikuliaq.

Part of Allied Systems Company, the company has leveraged its proprietary technology to develop the A-Frame, a system where its cross beam rotates freely as it deploys.

According to the manufacturer, the Allied A-Frame features a unique maintenance pin design that creates an additional degree of freedom to provide an unprecedented 172-degree range of motion.

Mark Chryss, port engineer for the Seward Marine Center, explained "We expect the A-Frame to do everything we designed it to do - we came up with a great product.

"Allied Systems Company should look into providing this same articulating cross beam for other solutions - the transfer of the load really is much smoother."
