Boom Booster boosted
11 July 2017 by Sotiris KanarisTerex Cranes has announced an extension to its Boom Booster kit for Demag CC 3800-1 crawler cranes.
The newest version of the Boom Booster Kit extends the reach of the Demag CC 3800-1 crawler crane to a maximum system length of 183m (600ft).
The Boom Booster kit for Demag CC 3800-1 crawler cranes can have up to nine structural 12m sections including two adapters. The kit’s new configurations and lengths are the results of removing lighter boom sections close to the head section and adding 3.5m wide Boom Booster sections right after the foot section.
The kit now can have a total length of up to 108m. In order to get the long boom configurations off the ground the Superlift mast length extends to 42m with an additional 2.5m section.
The kit increases the main boom stiffness of the CC 3800-1 resulting in higher lift capacities by up to 30%. It comes with the Demag fall protection system as standard.
“Equipped with the Boom Booster kit, the CC 3800-1 crawler crane increases performance, making it an excellent choice for heavy lifting, high reach applications like wind turbine erection, power plant installations, petrochemical work, as well as general construction and infrastructure lifts,” said Terex.
It is available with new crane purchases or is easily retrofitted to existing Terex Superlift 3800 and Demag CC 3800-1 models.
