Crowland Cranes has been appointed the official distributor for Terex’s rough terrain cranes for the UK and Ireland. The deal will allow the Peterborough company to increase the selection of rough terrains available to its customers.

Crowland is well-known in the UK for its longstanding role as a distributor of Manitowoc Grove rough terrains, as well as for its extensive testing, repair, and refurbishment facilities. The Grove deal remains in place, however the new agreement will allow the company to supply UK and Ireland customers with cranes in capacities not currently available in Grove's CE-marked range.

Pete Issitt, managing director of Crowland, told Cranes Today,

“With the selection of cranes currently available from both manufacturers, Crowland Cranes can now offer a complete range of capacities to our customers in the UK, and the new deal will also allow the company to enter the rough terrain market in Ireland with Terex. Our new crane stock levels will be increasing over the next few months with both brands being available from our UK inventory. The rough terrain market in the UK has suffered a little over the years, but we are seeing greater appreciation of this versatile product in the UK and look forward to improving customer awareness over the next 12 months.”

The Peterborough, UK-based company has more than forty years’ experience in the lifting and handling machinery business. Crowland Cranes has an experienced team of service technicians and can also provide technical support via office-based teams.  The company will invest in and carry a significant parts inventory, all with the sole purpose of supporting the UK and Ireland customer base.

Stephan Wijkmans, regional sales manager at Terex Corporation, said: “We are delighted to have Crowland Cranes as our newly appointed distributor for Terex rough terrain cranes and I am convinced that the market will benefit from our new partnership. It’s clear we can combine our Terex product range, along with the expertise and knowledge of Crowland Cranes and with their experience of these very important markets. Crowland’s customer focused approach is first in class.”

Issitt added: “Crowland Cranes are delighted to announce the signing of this agreement with Terex Corporation for all machine sales, parts and service support for the entire range of Terex rough terrain products, throughout the UK and Ireland. This agreement now provides Crowland Cranes and our customers with a complete product portfolio of rough terrain cranes suitable for all Europe. We have already experienced some very good customer reactions and there’s clearly a great acceptance of the rough terrain product in the UK and Ireland. We believe by now offering the Terex portfolio of cranes, this acceptance will only improve and increase the awareness of this unique and very versatile product.”
