UK-based Falcon Tower Crane Services has acquired crane haulage company TJ Robins, to establish a new entity called Falcon Freight.

Falcon Tower Cranes Services will amalgamate TJ Robins and its existing haulage department to create this separate, independent haulage division.

TJ Robins–based in Dunstable, near Luton–was established in 1919. It runs a fleet of eight Scania trucks with Fassi and Palfinger cranes ranging from 45tm to 80tm. Included in the acquisition is a 2.1 acre (8500sqm) site.

Joining TJ Robin’s trucks in Falcon Freight’s fleet, will be the Falcon’s already owned heavy good vehicles.

Falcon said: “Haulage has always been an essential part of our business, moving crane components all over the country. Over the years, we have developed the skills and expertise to successfully manage a fleet of trucks, recently obtaining the FORS Gold accreditation. It is logical that our next step should be an investment in the infrastructure of our own haulage business, which includes a yard in a central UK location. With depots in Norfolk, Manchester, Scotland and now Dunstable we are perfectly placed to deliver a good, reliable service to both our crane business and the existing TJ Robins Ltd customers.”

Falcon Tower Crane Services Ltd is the largest tower crane supplier in the UK and runs a fleet of over 400 tower cranes and 150 generators. From its headquarters in Norfolk, and depot in Manchester the company also operates a specialist lifting training centre and a shotblast and spray department.
