Morrow has supplied five hammerhead tower cranes to contractor Webcor Concrete for the construction of the Oceanwide Plaza hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

The Liebherr models 316 EC-H 12 Litronic and 550 EC-H 20/40 Litronic were key for complete coverage on the 4.9-acre project site.

Morrow said these hammerhead cranes are a proven product on large scale, multi-crane applications like Oceanwide Plaza.

These machines have free standing heights, tie-in spacing, versatile climbing systems and heavy lifting capacities.

When completed the Oceanwide Plaza hotel will rise 49 storeys with the two adjacent residential condominium towers at 40 storeys. These buildings were designed on top of an eight-story podium featuring 160,000 sq ft of retail space and parking spaces.

Oceanwide Plaza development began construction in March 2016 and is projected to be completed in 2018.
