Manitowoc has launched a Portuguese language website targeting its growing construction markets in Brazil.

The launch follows an announcement earlier this year that Manitowoc will build a 25,000 sq m factory in Passo Fundo, Southern Brazil. The facility is set to produce Grove mobile hydraulic cranes.

Portuguese-speaking clients of Manitowoc’s other locally-based subsidiary, National Crane boom trucks, will be able to use the site to access specs for these trucks. National Crane assembles its boom trucks in the region.

Bruce Buchan, Manitowoc’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, said that this supported the manufacturer’s strategy of providing support and manufacturing locally to remain as close to customers as possible: “Manitowoc’s local knowledge and expertise is more than sales and support organizations,” he said. “Brazil is one of the fastest growing regions for Manitowoc, and we are committed to serving our customers in that region.”
