SHV, the majority shareholder in Mammoet, is to take full control of the company. Members of the Van Seumeren family, including president and CEO Roderick van Seumeren, are expected to depart from the company.

The modern Mammoet was built out of mergers between Jan van Seumeren's Van Seumeren Kraanbedrijf, founded in 1966; Mammoet Transport (itself the product of mergers between barge crane company Goedkoop and crane and transport group Van Wezel); Stoof, a Dutch international heavy lift company; and the land-based activities of Big Lift.

SHV, a family owned business with roots in coal mining and diversified investments in energy, lifting and industrial services, bought a majority stake in the company in 2006.

Neither company was prepared to give detailed comment when Cranes Today spoke to them. However both confirmed that SHV will be taking full control of the company shortly.
