Cranes Today’s first Tower Crane Virtual Conference will take place on February 11, 2021. The Exhibition space will open at 11:00 GMT, while the conference will start at 12:00 GMT.

By visiting the Auditorium, delegates will be able to follow presentations by market experts on a range of topics with a global rather than regional approach. Delegates will have the chance to watch the full conference programme and pose questions to the speakers during live Q&A sessions.

The first presentation will be delivered by Thibaut Le Besnerais, vice president, global product management, Tower Cranes at Manitowoc Company. He will talk about global trends in tower crane design and demand. Eleazar Raya—Commercial Director, Comansa—will follow, to discuss about PPVC and the characteristics a crane should have to be suitable for this application.

Philipp Weckerle, head of product management at Liebherr Tower Cranes will talk about the development of the manufacturer’s Fibre Cranes, “fibre rope in action” and the impressions of the market.

Product director at Uperio David Janssen will deliver a presentation on the increasing size of self-erectors and whether they can compete with small top-slewing tower cranes.

The simplification of the erection process, considering the shifting market demand in the tower crane sector, will be the focus of the presentation delivered by Cristian Badin, commercial director at Raimondi Cranes. Massimo Cappello, director product management at Terex Tower Cranes, and Steve Bradby, engineering leader at Select Plant Hire, will talk about remote monitoring and fleet management.

Carlos Moreno, global segment lead for onshore wind at Mammoet, will discuss whether tower cranes can be an alternative solution for installing the new generation of wind turbines, with higher hub heights. More speakers will be announced soon.

Mohamed Abouelezz, general manager sales MENA - South East Asia at Wolffkran , will deliver a presentation on the evolution of tower cranes for infrastructure projects, the challenges associated with such projects and the way tower cranes provide solutions.

The ability for delegates to interact is not restricted to the Q&A: they will also be able to network outside the Auditorium.
